Naomi Says She Was Too Nice for the Past 16 Years

– During an appearance on Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank Recap show, Ms. Money in the Bank winner Naomi discussed her huge win at last weekend’s event. Below are some highlights (WrestlingInc.com):
On being too nice for most of her career: “That’s why I don’t understand why everybody is so shook and so shocked … I was too nice for 16 years and now everybody like, she’s unhinged. No, I’m not. I’m finally being honest for the first time, and I’m tired and I’m beat up. No, we’re not doing this no more. They messed up now. They should have never let me get that briefcase … I’m about to wreak havoc on everybody.”
On how she’s putting herself first now: “You’ve seen all the things that have been done to me and what I’ve gone through. Everybody that I’ve helped, everybody that I’ve put before myself. So now that I’m finally putting myself first, why am I wrong?”
On carrying others in her tag teams: “I’ve always enjoyed being in tag teams. I’ve always been the one to want to carry others, elevate others, give to others. And I think I’m at that point where, and I learned and found in my time away that I had given so much of that I didn’t put enough into myself. So when I came back, this go around…you just learn over time. And sometimes, to get to the top of this business, sometimes you just got to do what you got to do. I’ve never been as cutthroat as I am now, but in this part of my career, I have to be. Sorry newbies, sorry ‘NXT,’ sorry old friends…it’s Naomi time. That’s where I’m at. And whoever don’t like it, better proceed with caution.”
Naomi’s briefcase allows her a title show, anytime, anywhere, against a WWE women’s champion of her choice for the next year.
