Ratings Breakdown For This Past Week’s AEW Collision and Dynamite

As previously reported, last Saturday’s AEW Collision rose in viewership and the key 18-49 rating, getting 518,000 viewers and an 0.16 (211,000 viewers), respectively. It also had an 0.12 in 18-34. Meanwhile, things weren’t as rosy for AEW Dynamite, which was down in both measures. It drew 774,000 viewers and an 0.24 in 18-49 (321,000 viewers). It also had an 0.17 in 18-34. Collision was #12 for the night and the highest-rated non-sports show for the day. It was behind nine college football shows and two baseball playoff shows. In its time slot, it was #4 behind the Phillies vs. Diamondbacks, Mississippi vs. Auburn and Texas Tech vs. Brigham Young on FS 1 (545,000/0.16). It also went against Duke vs. Florida State on ABC (4,082,000/0.79), Michigan vs. Michigan State on NBC (3,730,000/0.84) and Utah vs. USC on FOX (3,227,000/0.85) on network TV.

Compared to the week before, it was up 2.8% in viewers, up 13.4% in 18-49 and up 34.4% in 18-34. It had 54,000 in men 18-34 (up 14.9%), 32,000 in women 18-34 (up 88.2%), 87,000 in men 35-49 (up 24.3%) and 38,000 in women 35-49 (down 26.9%). The audience was 66.9% male in 18-49.

Dynamite had the lowest viewership for its regular time slot since June 15, 2022 and the lowest 18-49 since June 28 (second lowest of the year). Dynamite’s numbers dropped in the third quarter and never recovered. NXT actually beat Dynamite this week in total viewers, 18-34, 50+ and men 18-34; Dynamite won in 18-49 and men 35-49.

Dynamite’s competition for the night included the NBA, as well as news coverage of the shooting in Lewiston, ME. The news broke nationally around 8:20 PM, during Dynamite’s second quarter. While news coverage numbers went up, they weren’t up huge. The head-to-head NBA competition was Dallas vs. San Antonio (2,989,000/1.20 on ESPN), but only for Dynamite’s final six minutes except on the West Coast. Boston vs. New York head-to-head had 2,552,000/0.90.

Dynamite was #9 for the night and #3 in its time slot behind Boston vs. New York and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (1,023,000/0.30). News programs that were higher than usual included Hannity on Fox News (2,935,000/0.21) and CNN (1,100,000/0.16).

The show had 67,000 in men 18-34 (down 38%), 53,000 in women 18-34 (up 6%), 167,000 in men 35-49 (down 4.6%) and 33,000 in women 35-49 (down 54.8%). The audience was 72.9% male in 18-49.

Compared to last week, the show was down 14.1% in viewers, 20.7% in 18-49 and 24.1% in 18-34. Compared to last year, it was down 22.4% in viewers, down 23.6% in 18-49 and down 25.3% in 18-34.
