The Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series 2025 saw a masked man in a hoodie enter the cage and attack CM Punk. The assailant escaped after taking out the World Heavyweight Champion with a Superkick and a Stomp, allowing Bron Breakker to hit his trademark Spear and win the match for his team.
The masked man once again made his presence felt this past Monday on RAW on two separate occasions, taking out Rey Mysterio and LA Knight with the Stomps. The rumor mill has been abuzz with speculations around the identity of the masked man. While WWE has yet to reveal his face, Austin Theory is the most likely person behind the mask. Media reports have also suggested that two different talents played the masked man this past Monday. With Chris Jericho increasingly likely to join WWE once his AEW deal expires, some have gone as far as suggesting that Y2J might be the assailant.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shot down this suggestion, stating that there is “zero percent chance” of the masked man being Jericho.
Jericho is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling. However, he has been absent from weekly programming since April 2025. Amid his absence, media reports have repeatedly speculated about the veteran returning to WWE once his deal with the Tony Khan-led company expires.
