Roxanne Perez Reflects On Her Royal Rumble Experience

Roxanne Perez made her Royal Rumble debut at January’s PPV, and she recently talked about the experience. The former NXT Women’s Champion spoke with Fightful for a new interview and you can see a couple of highlights below:

On her Royal Rumble experience: “Yeah, honestly Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania were my top dream matches when I was a kid. So when they told me, ‘Hey, you’re gonna be in the Royal Rumble,’ I was like, ‘It’s my first year here. This is insane.’ I feel like it’s so much to process, but like I said, I’m trying to take in every moment as much as I can. Especially in that Royal Rumble, when I made my entrance, I was like, ‘I have to look everywhere, take it all in.’ It’s so cool the moments that you get to have in professional wrestling. It’s amazing.”

On her ‘light bulb’ moment in WWE: “I think being in the WWE, I feel like you have to evolve a lot. You have to constantly evolve so that the fans want to keep being invested in you. Something that I sometimes struggle with is I have to keep adding layers. What can I do next? What can I do differently? I remember Shawn told me, ‘Look, you’re fine. You don’t need to change anything right now. You’re young. The cool thing about you being young in the business is that the story writes itself for you. So just keep living in the moment, keep doing what you’re doing, work hard and things are just gonna fall into place.’ That was really good advice to hear from him, especially, from the best in the world, the one that’s experienced everything, the highs, the lows. That was cool.”
