Shane Helms Accuses Buff Bagwell Of Lying About Him In Dark Side of the Ring Episode
Shane Helms says that Buff Bagwell’s story about him on this week’s Dark Side of the Ring episode wasn’t true. Tuesday’s episode centered on Bagwell, and alleged that Bagwell confronted Helms at a WWE training session where Helms supposedly called Bagwell a drug addict. Bagwell said that he’d slapped Helms and turned his back to leave before Helms hit him with a frozen water bottle, which required Bagwell to work his WWE Raw debut match with 24 staples in his head.
Bagwell was released following the infamously bad match with Booker T, which saw WWE change their plans into the WCW & ECW “invasion.” Bagwell said he was released because he was blamed for hitting Helms first, something Helms vehemently denied in a series of posts to social media after being tagged by a fan in a discussion.
Helms wrote:
“I didn’t [cost Bagwell his contract] either. Buff is a lying POS. Always has been. There were witnesses there and NONE agree with Buff.
“He used to blame Jim Ross too. Blamed everyone except the man in the mirror. Nothing wrong with failing at something, but accountability is key. Everyone associated with that episode of Dork Side can suck ass.”
In response to Bagwell’s comments on the episode, Helms wrote:
“He literally just went on a show and told a bunch of lies. No more second chances from me.”
