– The Mr. McMahon docuseries is streaming now on Netflix, and the new docuseries covers the angle involving McMahon Family, where Stephanie McMahon turns on her father and marries the heel Triple H on WWE programming. The turn by Stephanie was an act of rebellion to get back at her father for using her as a pawn against Steve Austin during an angle in 1999. The docuseries features Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H all sharing their thoughts on the angle, and how fans rapidly turned on the newly heel Stephanie.

Stephanie McMahon also addressed the sometimes edgy and racy content she took part in as her heel character on WWE programming. She admitted that she looks back on some of the things she did during the Attitude Era with disbelief, but she noted that “it was a different time in our business.” Below are some highlights (via Fightful):

Triple H on how Vince McMahon reacted to him after Stephanie’s heel turn: “The first time we go back on TV after this whole angle happens, the crowd turns on her and they’re chanting “Slut.” Vince, as they’re going crazy for her, he looks at me and he goes [Rubs fingers together] Meaning, ‘This is money.'”

Vince McMahon on how he enjoyed how the audience was reacting to the storyline: “I’ve got a big smile on my face because that means the audience is participating. Anytime the audience is participating, they’re loving what it is you’re doing. Steph became this great heel. She was willing to do anything. She’s always been, ‘Whatever you want, dad.’ She knows what it is I’m trying to do.”

Stephanie McMahon on how she was often humiliated by her babyface counterparts on TV: “When I was younger in my career, I was all on board to do whatever he wanted. I look back on some of the stuff I did and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I did that.’ Yeah, for sure.”

Stephanie on if she ever felt the things her father wanted her to do on TV were weird: “Yeah, sometimes, I thought it was a little bit weird, but it was a different time in our business.”

Stephanie McMahon eventually became an executive and board member from WWE. She resigned from her position as WWE Co-President in January 2023 after her father was unanimously elected back into the company during that month. She recently appeared to open up WrestleMania 40: Night 2 and also during this year’s WWE Draft. The Mr. McMahon docuseries is streaming now on Netflix.
