Tony Khan Says Dual AEW TV Tapings for Dynamite & Collision Will Not Be a Regular Occurrence
– During today’s media conference call for AEW Full Gear 2024, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan AEW conducting double-TV tapings for both Dynamite and Collision. Currently, AEW has dual TV tapings for both shows scheduled for November 27 and next year on January 29, February 19, February 26, and March 12. According to Khan, this will only be a small percentage of their TV tapings coming up, and it’s not something they plan to do a lot. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Tony Khan on double TV tapings for AEW Dynamite and Collision: “It’s a low percentage and it’s not supposed to be a common thing at all, and it’s not going to be a regular occurrence. Rarely are we taping the shows on the same night. The only time you really see it happen more than once consecutively is around the Australia event, which is a little bit of a different cadence for us because we have to film content and then fly the crew internationally.”
On how the double-TV tapings will be due to international trips or special occurrences: “It’s not going to be common and very rarely would be tape those shows on the same night. Typically, it’s around an international trip or a special occurrence. The cadence of tapings is far from final for next year. There are still great media opportunities out there for AEW and we’re still having a lot of active negotiations about AEW and Ring of Honor.”
AEW is scheduled to tape both Dynamite and Collision on Wednesday, November 27 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
