Trick Williams Calls NXT a ‘Direct Reflection’ Of Shawn Michaels’ Leadership

Trick Williams credits the success of the NXT product to Shawn Michaels, as he noted in a recent interview. The former NXT Champion spoke with WGN News for a new interview promoting the brand’s move to The CW in October, and during the conversation he was asked about how the brand is different from Raw and Smackdown.

“Man, I think the product that we have here at NXT is a direct reflection of Shawn Michaels’ leadership,” Trick said (per Fightful). “You know what I mean? He teaches us, he trains us to move, to keep everything exciting. And that’s what we do, man. We bring that action. We got something to prove.”

He continued, “You can compare us to FBS, SEC-like football compared to the pro. Yeah, the pros, they make the big bucks. They’re doing big things. But those guys in college, man, they hungry. They can’t wait to get to the next level. That’s us here at NXT, we hungry. We wanna prove ourselves every single time we in that ring.”
