– Showbuzz Daily has the ratings for last Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day edition of WWE Raw. Monday’s holiday episode had stiff competition facing the NFL Wild Card game between the LA Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. The NFL game was televised on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN 2 with the Manningcast, which featured an appearance by former WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Monday’s Raw averaged 1.613 million viewers. That’s based off of 1.734 million viewers for Hour 1, 1.650 million viewers for Hour 2, and 1.456 million viewers for Hour 3. Overall viewership was only slightly down from last week’s show, which drew an audience of 1.632 million viewers, which was up against the College Football National Championship game.
The good news for Raw is that ratings were up in the key demo this week. In the P18-49 key demo, Raw averaged a 0.43 rating, which is up from last week’s 0.39 rating in the key demo.
The opening hour of Raw ranked No. 6 in the Cable Top 150 rankings. Hours 2 and 3 ranked No. 8 and 9 respectively. Last week’s show ranked No. 9 for cable originals. The NFL Wild Card game drew a total of 23 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN 2 (via Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston).
Considering that Raw only had a slight dip in viewership and ratings in the key demo were actually up this week against a major NFL playoff game, this should be seen as a major win for WWE.
As noted, WWE Raw will be bumped to the SyFy channel on February 7 and 14 due to the Winter Olympics airing on the USA Network.
