– On a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Dave Meltzer had some more details on Goldberg’s current deal with WWE following Survivor Series. The main event of the PPV saw Goldberg beating Brock Lesnar clean in under two minutes. According to Meltzer, Goldberg received a “real big money deal” for his match against Lesnar at the event.
Regarding Goldberg’s new WWE deal, Goldberg is now willing to wrestle for that amount as often as Vince McMahon would like him to. However, it’s up to Vince McMahon how many times he wants to use Goldberg. Meltzer indicated that Goldberg’s appearances in WWE going forward are now open ended, as long as WWE meets his current price.
The report added that WWE is currently looking at a rematch between Goldberg vs. Lesnar to happen at WrestleMania 33. Since Goldberg is now confirmed for the Royal Rumble, it was speculated that Lesnar could interfere in the match and cause him to get eliminate, which was basically exactly what happened at the Royal Rumble 2004. That ultimately led to the first match between Goldberg and Lesnar at WrestleMania 20.
