WWE Officials Working Under Assumption That Brock Lesnar Is Going Back To UFC
As we’ve previously reported, Brock Lesnar is rumored to be leaving WWE after Wrestlemania for another run in the UFC. Now, Dave Meltzer claims that WWE are also working under the assumption that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be gone after March 2015.
Meltzer said: “The Lesnar people always keep things quiet, but within the company, the belief is that he’s going back to UFC, and his showing up lighter to TV last week confirmed that to people who thought it.”
Dana White has previously said he would consider a Lesnar return but hasn’t talked to him. He previously said at “The Time is now” press conference in November that Lesnar wanted to compete again after he left the UFC following a TKO loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in December 2011.
White said at the time: “We have a great relationship with him. He’s healthy, and he’s said that he’s interested in fighting again. We’ll see what happens.”
Bellator president Scott Coker also showed interest in Lesnar, but they haven’t made an official offer.
