Hey kids! Steve Cook here with you for the latest edition of AAA on Mexico’s FOX & the United States’ YouTube! We’ve got three big matches tonight to close out the action from Merida. Next week’s event will be live from San Luis Potosi, and I’m guessing they’ll announce some things for that. As for tonight, the El Fiscal/Abismo Negro Jr. feud continues, we’ll see Flammer take on Lady Shani, and Mr. Iguana & La Parka will be in action to make the kids happy. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday!

Cook’s Lucha Libre AAA Review 7.4.26
Then. Now. Forever. Together!
We open with AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio coming to the ring to address the public. Rey says that AAA has been the place for the biggest stars in Latin wrestling for generations. Today, their vision is bigger than ever, he wants AAA to be the place for the biggest stars in the world. It’s an honor for him to introduce one of the biggest Latinos in the world, who represents the lucha culture and is a former WWE World Champion, Damian Priest!
Damian appears on stage while Corey Graves & JBL lose their minds over the good job Rey has done here. He’s a 5-time Tag Team Champion, former US & World Champion. He’s wrestled for more than twenty years on the biggest stages. He’s wrestled some of the best in the world and has beaten them, but he hasn’t done it in AAA. He’s heard about the history, legends & honor associated with AAA. He came here to dominate. All will fall before him. If you have a championship, you’ll get to know him real well. He yells “all rise” a few times and people eventually get up and cheer. They weren’t expecting that, nobody’s fault there. Damian did his promo in Spanish if you’re scoring at home, or even if you’re alone.
Mr. Iguana, Yesca & La Parka are WALKING! Las Toxicas are WALKING! Corey Graves, JBL & Rey Mysterio are our hosts.
Flammer vs. Lady Shani: Lady Shani appeared last week for the first time in months to help La Catalina & Lola Vice against Las Toxicas. Arm drag by Shani. Shani blocks a suplex attempt, takes Flammer down and they exchange shoves. Shani with a headlock and then a headscissors take over. Shani dominating early, which she needs to do in this situation as a recent returnee. Flammer eventually gets control with a kick and takes over. Shani gets kicked between the legs in the corner and stomped down on the apron. Flammer stretches Shani’s mask a little bit. Spinebuster by Flammer, then a running clothesline. Shani gets stomped down in the corner, then again in the opposite corner. Flammer kicks at Shani’s head, then the back. Shani goes for a sleeper then gets rammed into the turnbuckle and chopped. Another kick between the legs in the corner, Shani fires back with a clothesline and an armdrag into the corner. Kick in the corner by Shani. Flammer fires back with a kick, some reversals lead to a roll through into a rear naked choke, then they roll around and Shanni gets a near fall. Flammer tries a sunset flip, Shani responds with a rollup. Double stomp by Flammer, then Flammer gets a near fall on a chickenwing sitout bomb. Flammer takes the Reina de Reinas belt into the ring, but La Catalina stops her! Shani hits a backstabber on Flammer, then puts her up top for an Iconoclasm! That gets the three count on the Reina de Reinas!
Winner: Lady Shani (8:54 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/2
I’ll admit that I know absolutely nothing about any past between these two wrestlers, but it seems like they have pretty good chemistry together. Shani has come back looking to impress and get a larger role on the AAA roster, and she’s off to a good start.
Catalina holds up the Reina de Reinas championship belt and poses with it while Shani looks at her quizzically and Flammer recovers.
We see some backstage footage of Pagano being taken to the ambulance after being attacked last week. Psycho Clown promises whoever’s responsible will pay for it, and continues apologizing to Pagano for suspecting him of the previous attacks.
We see a video package of El Grande Americano getting attacked by the new Los Perros del Mal. Grande says he didn’t expect it, but it’s ok because the Perros had their moment. Enjoy it, because next week in San Luis Potsi he’ll be waiting for all of them. He won’t be alone. If the Perros have the guts, they can present themselves again. Los Perros don’t forgive, and neither does he.
Mr. Iguana & La Parka vs. Dinamico & Drago vs. Money Machine (Garra de Oro and Colmillo de Plata): JBL comments that rats must love iguanas, I chuckled. Colmillo offers Iguana some money, Yesca bites it, and that leads to the Iguanarana, then Iguana flipping out of a Colmillo move. Drago tagsIguana, and he does some flips to evade Colmillo. Garra comes in and hits a dropkick on Drago. Some kicks by Drago. Dinamico tags in and takes Money Machine off the apron. Drago with a standing shooting star, Parka tags in. Drago doesn’t know and tries to tag Dinamico. Parka kicks them both down then goes to work on Dinamico. Parka hits a rolling back suplex into a german suplex. Money Machine do the double team in the corner. Garra hits a springboard crossbody on Parka. Drago kicks Colmillo into the corner. Drago goes up top and dives onto Money Machine on the floor. Dinamico celebrates until Iguana hits his big headscissors. Parka somehow springboards and cartwheels into an arm drag on Dinamico to the floor! Drago kicks Iguana, hits a crossbody off the top for two. Money Machine take Drago off the turnbuckle, then double suplex Parka. Colmillo is sent outside, Garra joins him after a knee strike. Dinamico hits a big crossbody onto Money Machine on the floor. Iguana hits a rana on the floor. Drago DDTs Parka, Parka blocks the frog splash with a cutter, then hits the Bone Breaker on Drago for the three count!
Winners: Mr. Iguana & La Parka (6:58 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ***
This was just a lot of fun. It got a little repetitive at certain points, but you also had La Parka pulling moves out even I haven’t seen before. We’re seeing a bit more from guys like Drago & Dinamico each time out, they’re looking to get noticed for sure, as is Money Machine. Getting noticed is never a problem for Iguana & Parka.
Iguana & Parka dance with kids in celebration.
We see a clip from the 2009 Verano De Escalando featuring Dr. Wagner Jr. taking on El Mesias & Cibernetico in a three-way dance.
Rey Mysterio tells the media that Damian is someone who represents their culture. He’s Puerto Rican, but grew up a Mexican wrestling fan. Rey runs off some of Damian’s highlights. Rey ducks a question about El Grande Americano & Perros del Mal and hypes next week’s episode when Priest & Dirty Dom will be there. Rey lists off the upcoming live events to end his interview.
El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro Jr.: They waste no time exchanging strikes. Fiscal kicks and clotheslines Abismo down. Backstabber and a running senton by Fiscal gets two. Abismo blocks a suplex and hits one of his own for two. Fiscal gets out of a press slam attempt and sends Abismo outside for the tope suicida. Abismo sends Fiscal into the ringpost and smacks him around on the floor. Abismo slams Fiscal on the floor, but then misses a senton off the steps. Fiscal misses a tope rope move back in the ring, but sends Abismo into the ringpost shoulder first. Fiscal goes for the Martinete, but Abismo slips out and they clothesline each other down. Karmen Petrovic makes her way to the ring, and Perros del Mal attack Fiscal! Fiscal is no match for these guys, Angel, Berto, Daga & Bronco Nima put him through the wringer before Karmen finishes him off with a shining wizard.
Winner: El Fiscal (4:20 via disqualification)
Match Rating: **1/4
Some will say that Fiscal didn’t get to look good here. This might be kind of a weird American style way of looking at things, but Fiscal being important enough for the new superheel group to beat down’s gotta mean something, right? If nothing else he might get to wrestle someone other than Abismo once in awhile. This was fine for the role it served.
Fiscal is no match for these guys, Angel, Berto, Daga & Bronco Nima put him through the wringer before Karmen finishes him off with a shining wizard. Los Perros pose over their victim as our live event comes to an end. So long for now!
