411’s WWF Sunday Night Heat Report 01.06.02
Hello! It’s time for Heat. Actually, it was time for Heat over an hour ago! Where were you? I hate it when you’re late. Tonight’s show comes to us live from WWF New York, our hosts are Tazz and Michael Cole, along with special guest Terri.
Match #1- Billy Gunn w/ Chuck Palumbo vs. Scotty 2 Hotty w/Albert
The AGD rush the ring and start making out! Not really, but I’m afraid it can’t be far off. The ref sends Palumbo and Albert to the back. Gunn attacks Scotty to start and beats him down in the corner. Powerslam by Gunn but he showboats and Scotty punches him from behind. Tilt-a-whirl slam gives Billy the momentum back. Gunn chokes Scotty In the corner, then sends him off the ropes, but Scotty comes back with a tornado ddt! He keeps the offense going with a reverse neckbreaker. That gets two. Gunn misses splash in the corner and staggers around. Scotty takes this as a cue to hit the bulldog, Gunn dodges him though, and scores with the Famouser.
Winner- Billy Gunn
We come back from commercials to see the WWF Comedy 2001 montage that debuted on the Best of WWF 2001 Raw. We get more commercials and then return to see HHH’s “Beautiful Day” video. Like him or not, you just have to respect the man for taking the Walls of Jericho with a torn quadriceps muscle. I honestly can’t even imagine how painful that was. Check out this possible WWF roster in about 6 months: The Rock, Steve Austin, HHH, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Undertaker. Talk about a top-heavy promotion! Let’s hope they can do something better with this stacked roster than what WCW did when they had a similar situation.
Dang! The chicks in the new Real World are really hot! Terri comes out for her interview time wearing the ugliest belt I’ve ever seen. This is pretty much just a shill for Terri’s new hosting gig. She runs down Trish Stratus actually stating she spent more money on her breast job than Trish did. Terri introduces Rob Zombie’s new video, “Never Gonna Stop”, which also happens to be Edge’s new theme song.
They better do something with this show or this is going to be the shortest report ever.
Match #2- Chuck Palumbo vs. Albert
Albert runs in but gets caught by Chuck. They exchange some punches and Albert gets the advantage with a reverse elbow. Chuck blocks the big swing by going to the ropes, but gets catapulted onto bottom row. Chuck hits a low blow then goes to work on Albert. Chuck runs into an elbow then gets avalanched. Albert press-slams him down then goes to hit the avalanche in the corner, but Chuck protects himself with the ref allowing Billy Gunn to run in and hit the drop-sleeper to give Chuck the win.
Winner- Chuck Palumbo
After the match, Scotty comes in and the faces beat down the heels. Gunn rescues Palumbo from the Worm though.
I’m switching over to the WWA Inception preview and I have to say it looks kinda cool. The WWA Battle Royal seems like it is pretty funny.
Match #3- Crash vs. Christian for the WWF European Championship
Crash comes off the ropes and drops Christian with a shoulderblock. Crash back body drops Christian to the outside and follows with a baseball slide dropkick. It gets two back inside, and Christian rolls to the apron. Christian comes back by dropping Crash throat-first on the top rope. He grabs a hammerlock but Crash gets free and rolls him up for two. He follows with an atomic drop and a clothesline. He climbs up top and hits a cross-body. Crash climbs up top again, but this time crashes catches up to him and tries to get s superplex. Crash drops him though, and hits a tornado ddt. It only gets two. What a gyp! Christian flips out of something and hits the Unprettier for three.
Winner- Christian
Well, that’s it for me, see ya later dudes.
