Backstage Note on If Jason Jordan Might Return to the Ring

Over seven years ago, former WWE Superstar Jason Jordan was sidelined with a neck injury that forced him to end his career in the ring. Since that time, he’s transitioned to a full-time producer role with WWE. Although his former American Alpha tag team partner, Chad Gable, indicated that Jordan was trying to work to get back into the ring in 2021, that doesn’t appear to be the case right now.
The Fightful Select Answers Q&A answered about Jason Jordan’s producing role in WWE, Sean Ross Sapp stated he’s heard “no rumblings of an in-ring return” for the 37-year-old former WWE Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champion.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump back in January 2021, Gable said of Jordan, “It’s unfortunate what happened with his injury, but you never say never. He’s working on it, he’s trying to get back, and who knows? A reunion is always something that I would never be against.”
Jason Jordan last wrestled at the 2018 Royal Rumble, when he and Seth Rollins lost the Raw Tag Team Titles to the Bar (Cesaro and Sheamus). He was also notably featured in a controversial angle in 2017, when he was revealed as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Angle later said on his now-defunct podcast that the storyline was a racially motivated “rib” by Vince McMahon after the former WWE Chairman found out that Angle had dated a couple of African-American women in his past.
