UPDATED: Backstage Update on WWE Paying Tribute to Brodie Lee

UPDATE: Fightful reports that in addition to Superstars filming tributes to Brodie Lee (aka Jonathan Huber) yesterday, a video package was also prepared in tribute to the late former WWE Superstar. However, it’s unknown when or where this video package will be used.
ORIGINAL: As previously reported, former WWE Superstar Brian Myers called out WWE for not doing more to pay tribute to Brodie Lee (aka former WWE Superstar Luke Harper) on last night’s episode of Raw. While the show did open with an “In Memory Of” graphic showcasing Jonathan Huber (Brodie Lee’s real name), there were no video packages or a 10-bell salute. PWInsider had an update today on WWE’s plans for Brodie Lee tributes.
According to the report, multiple WWE talents and sources within the company stated that tributes to Huber were filmed yesterday before Raw went on the air. While last night’s Raw did not feature any video packages on Huber, throughout the evening, Superstars did pay tribute to Huber by using some of his favorite catchphrases. Also on Raw Talk, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston paid tribute to him there and spoke about Huber as well.
As of now, it’s not yet clear when or where this material that was filmed will be used. It’s also not clear why if material was filmed why it wasn’t used last night on Raw. However, the filming does seem to indicate that WWE has future plans to pay tribute to Huber beyond the graphic that was shown during last night’s Raw.
Huber tragically passed away due to a lung condition last Saturday. He was 41 years old. As noted, AEW is planning a special tribute show for Huber and his family on tomorrow’s TNT broadcast of Dynamite.
