Cody Rhodes Explains That Stories That He Left AEW Over Money & Creative Issues Are ‘Misguided’
– Cody Rhodes took to Twitter today to respond to a fan who is boycotting this weekend’s AEW Double or Nothing 2022 for not paying Rhodes “what he deserves.” Rhodes responded and noted that the rumors of why he left AEW over money and creative issues are inaccurate.
The fan initially tweeted, “I will not order #AEWDoubleOrNothing this weekend in protest of @CodyRhodes not being in #AEW @TonyKhan wants are money pays other people but won’t pay @CodyRhodes what he deserves.”
Cody Rhodes wrote in response, “Full stop: the money and creative story that misguided brudda put out there has already been rebuffed by all parties. I’m proud of my peers/kids there and my accomplishments as competitor/EVP. It was just personal and it was just time to go for the big one.”
Rhodes departed AEW later this year. He later signed to return with WWE and came back at WrestleMania 38, beating Seth Rollins on Night 1.
