Hangman Page vs. Togi Makabe @ 9:05 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly solid back and forth match, with Page picking up a much needed win. He continues to work hard.

Jay White vs. YOSHI-HASHI: CHAOS EXPLODES. White attacks before the bell but HASHI quickly fights back. He fires away with strikes until White dumps him to the floor. White follows and repeatedly slams him to the apron and barricade, taking control. Romero is absolutely disgusted by White’s actions here. Back in and they trade strikes until White gets the Muta lock. HASHI fights and makes the ropes. White to the floor and gets a chair. HASHI dropkicks it into his face and rolls him back in. The running blockbuster follows. HASHI now hits the draping dropkick and heads up top. The blockbuster connects for 2. White fights off a powerbomb, and hits a German. The back stabber follows. The fisherman’s buster connects for 2. White counters karma into blade runner for the win. Jay White defeated YOSHI-HASHI @ 9:53 via pin [**½] This was another solid at best match that ended up being every Jay White G1 match so far including the ref bump and low blow. It just all runs together and none of it feels important. There was also no intensity or sense of urgency to any of the work.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. EVIL: They lock up and work into some back and forth. Tanahashi grounds the action, but EVIL fights back and attacks the arm. He then follows with a senton and covers for 2. EVIL grounds things, continuing to focus on the arm of Tanahashi. Tanahashi finally escapes and hits a flying forearm, elbow drop, and senton for 2. Tanahashi gets a cradle for 2. Twist and shout follows, and then sling blade connects and that gets 2. Tanahashi up top and EVIL shoves the ref at him. Tanahashi fights back with a dragon screw in the ropes and the high fly high cross follows, but the high fly flow misses. EVIL hits darkness falls and gets a good near fall. The lariat connects for 2. Everything is evil is countered, and Tanahashi hits everything is evil and heads up top. The high fly flow finishes it. Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated EVIL @ 12:50 via pin [***¼] This was a good back and forth match, they work well together, and it had the most energy of anything on the show so far.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Minoru Suzuki: These two are 3-1-2 against each other all time in favor of Okada. They had a spectacular draw in last year’s G1. A draw feels in play here. Suzuki attacks before the bell and they immediately brawl to the floor. Suzuki kicks the shit out of him with chairs and barricades, dominating early on. They brawl into the crowd, more chair shots by Suzuki follow. Okada drags himself back to ringside and is met with more chair shots for the countout tease. Suzuki now gets the hanging arm bar in the ropes. He kicks Okada back to the floor. Okada beats the count back in so Suzuki stomps on his face, and then chokes out Okada with his own shirt. Okada tries to fire up, lays in strikes and hits a neck breaker. The running back elbow connects, and then a DDT gets 2 for Okada. Suzuki counters the neck breaker into an arm bar, but Okada makes the ropes. Suzuki hits the PK and goes right back to the arm as he works a double arm bar submission. Okada makes the ropes and gets the break. Suzuki now pummels him with strikes in the corner, but Okada fires up and hits John Woooooooo. They trade strikes, Suzuki laughs at Okada, and Suzuki mocks Okada as he delivers more strikes. They continue to light each other up, Suzuki laughs like a maniac and drops Okada with huge forearms. Okada counters the Gotch into a cradle for 2. The dropkick connects but Suzuki starts laying in rapid-fire strikes. Okada answers but Suzuki wipes him out with the running dropkick. Knee strikes follow, and now a guillotine. Okada fades, and Suzuki gets the sleeper. Okada drops to the mat and tries to power out, but Suzuki looks for the Gotch, but Okada counters out and they trade strikes. Suzuki locks on the octopus hold. Okada then counters out and hits the tombstone for the double down. Okada now works a sleeper, teases the Gotch, Suzuki counters and looks for a tombstone but Okada counters into a Gotch style tombstone. Rolling rainmaker by Okada and a regular rainmaker follows for the win. Kazuchika Okada defeated Minoru Suzuki @ 18:35 via pin [****] This was a rather great match, with Suzuki sadistically beating on Okada for the majority of the match. The work was fun and engaging, I thought that they worked the right match, and in the end, Okada overcame and continues to have a chance to win the block. I thought it was just really hitting it’s stride when it ended, and that there was more meat on he bone to work with, but I still really enjoyed it.
