Injured AEW wrestler Dustin Rhodes thinks Kyle Fletcher staying in AEW is good news. During a recent interview with Insight With Chris Van Vliet, AEW star Kyle Fletcher confirmed a report that he signed a new multi-year contract with AEW earlier this year.
At the time, it was said that the deal was made in the spring of 2025, Fletcher reportedly signing a “big money deal.” Additionally, the wrestler is expected to be a major part of AEW moving forward.
Speaking to Van Vliet, Fletcher stated (via Fightful), “I did (sign a new contract with AEW). Yeah. This year. Man, it felt really cool. I was on a beach in Jamaica when I signed my contract… It was pretty surreal.”
Fletcher continued on his current spot on the AEW roster, “It’s very weird to realize, like, man, this spot that I’m in, it’s pretty big, it’s pretty special. Not a lot of people get to this level.”
AEW wrestler and former TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes, the man who Fletcher defeated to win the TNT Title on Collision last July, commented on the news via social media. Rhodes supported Fletcher re-upping with AEW, saying, “It’s best for business.”
Dustin Rhodes wrote on Kyle Fletcher, “It’s best for business even though I can’t stand him. You can’t deny his talent.” You can view Rhodes’ comments below:

Kyle Fletcher Continues in Continental Classic Tournament, Dustin Rhodes Recovering From Double-Knee Replacement
Currently, Kyle Fletcher is continuing in the AEW Continental Classic Tournament. He started strong in the tournament, winning back-to-back matches against Kazuchika Okada and Kevin Knight. However, that was followed by a huge upset loss to Speedball Mike Bailey.
Fletcher looks to bounce back from his recent defeat to Bailey with his next Gold League matchup against PAC. That airs later tonight on AEW Dynamite on TBS starting at 8:00 pm ET. The show will also be simulcast on HBO Max.
Meanwhile, Dustin Rhodes is currently recovering from double-knee replacement surgery that he underwent earlier this year. Rhodes hopes to be able to make his in-ring return later next year by March.
