Even More WWE News: PPV Buyrates, Stock Drop, Free Event, Burke Website, Cena Sings
– WWE stock is down today even though the market is up due to their disappointing second quarter results released today.
– Here are the PPV buyrates from their earnings report.
* Backlash 2008: 200,000 buys (194,000 buys in 2007)
* Judgment Day 2008: 252,000 buys (242,000 buys in 2007)
* One Night Stand 2008: 194,000 buys (186,000 buys in 2007)
* Night of Champions 2008: 273,000 buys (243,000 buys in 2007)
WrestleMania fell in the second quarter last year, and that did 1,188,000 million buys, but did not fall in the second quarter this year.
– WWE will be holding a free event this Saturday in Venice, CA. Talent advertised to appear are Ken Kennedy, The Miz, John Morrison, Carlito, Shannon Moore, Funaki, Tommy Dreamer, Elijah Burke, Candice Michelle, Layla, Lena Yada, Lilian Garcia, and Jimmy Hart. Prime G and Omar Cruz will be performing at the show and wrestlers will also be signing autographs.
– After RAW went off the air last night, John Cena got on the mic and sang “Rocky Top” along with the live crowd.
– Elijah Burke has relaunched his website at theelijahexpress.com.
