WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan sat down with Jackie Redmond ahead of today’s Night of Champions event, where she competes in the Queen of the Ring finals. During the chat, Liv Morgan discussed why she entered the Queen of the Ring tournament, denying that her past history with Rhea Ripley motivated her to win the crown.
Morgan instead claimed that she entered the tournament to have contenders and prove to anyone who doubts her that she is the greatest of all time. Below are some highlights:
On If Her History With Rhea Ripley Motivated Her To Win Queen of the Ring
“No. I’m not unaware of how great Rhea is, at how accomplished Rhea is, but the fact of the matter is, I’ve beaten Rhea at SummerSlam. I’ve taken her title and I’m so excited to do it again. But why I did have to enter the Queen of the Ring Tournament, Jackie, is because none of the girls on Raw wanted to challenge me. Do you wanna know why they didn’t wanna challenge me? Because I am the Liv Morgan. I am the greatest women’s world champion of all time, and I had the most dominant faction in the history of WWE, behind my back, having my back. These girls are scared of me, but they’re not dumb. So I had to actively seek out to be in this tournament so I can have contenders so that I could prove to anyone that doubts me, if anyone still doubts me at this point, that I am the greatest, period.”
Liv Morgan on Iyo Sky Saying Her Head Is too Big to Wear the Crown
“Do you know what I think about that? I think that Iyo is scared of my confidence. Okay. I don’t think that I have a big head. I don’t think that I am delusional. I think that I’m realistic and I’ve faced Iyo before, and she’s never been able to beat me one-on-one. And so I’m walking in to Queen of the Ring very confident. I’m not taking her lightly. Iyo is one of the greatest competitors that we have, but like I’ve said, she’s never beaten me one-on-one, and that’s not gonna start at Queen of the Ring.”
On What Double Champion Liv Morgan Has In Store for WWE
“I’m just saying, you don’t even wanna know, but you will be excited to find out. It’s gonna have me involved, so it’s gonna be messy, it’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be entertaining, and it’s gonna be exactly the way that I want it to be.”
Liv Morgan faces Iyo sky in the finals of the Queen of the Ring at today’s WWE Night of Champions 2026. The winner will earn a title shot. That means if Morgan wins, she will have an opportunity to compete for the WWE Women’s title and become a double-champion at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in August.
WWE Night of Champions 2026 takes place later today at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. domestically, and the first hour will be simulcast on ESPN. The show will stream on Netflix internationally.
