Mick Foley has publicly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump following a controversial social media post that drew backlash across entertainment and political circles. Foley questioned how anyone connected to WWE could continue supporting Trump after the remarks.

The issue stems from a post Trump shared on Truth Social that mocked the reported death of filmmaker Rob Reiner. Trump sarcastically attributed Reiner’s death to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” referencing Reiner and his wife, Michele. The post quickly circulated online and sparked criticism from several public figures. Trump, a WWE Hall of Famer and current president, framed the comment within his broader political messaging.

Musician Jack White responded sharply, condemning Trump for using a death to advance a personal narrative. White described the post as offensive and aimed at provoking attention rather than showing restraint.

“Trump you disgusting, vile, egomaniac, loser, child. To use someone’s tragic death to promote your own vanity and fascist authoritarian agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin. Shame on you Trump and anyone who defends this.”

Foley shared White’s response on Instagram and added his own comment. He said White’s words reflected his own feelings and questioned how WWE colleagues could continue standing by Trump (via NoDQ).

“What @officialjackwhite said here is spot on. How any of my @wwe colleagues can stand by, let alone stand next to this man is beyond me.”

Foley has been vocal in the past years about his opposition to Trump. His latest remarks continue that pattern and place him among entertainers who have openly criticized the president.

No response from WWE or Trump was issued regarding Foley’s remarks. Foley’s statements were made in his personal capacity and not tied to any official WWE platform.
