Ric Flair is backtracking on his rant against Ludwig Kaiser, apologizing for his comments about the WWE star. As reported, Flair went off on Kaiser during his already-infamous appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. Flair said he threatened to beat Kaiser up last year and didn’t get invited to this year’s WrestleMania as a result.

Flair said in the rant:

“I threatened to beat up Tiffany Stratton’s husband last year. I wasn’t allowed to go. A 24-year-old kid being threatened by a 76-year-old man, and I can’t go to WrestleMania? Are you kidding me? That English kid. He’s going to go as far in wrestling as a gnat. He’ll be a fly on the wall in a year.”

As is almost a tradition with Flair, he took to Twitter to back off his comments a bit. The WWE Hall of Famer posted:

“Mr. Ludwig Kaiser, I never implied that you couldn’t work, or didn’t have talent. I actually understand that you are doing really well with The Undertaker’s promotion. I am sorry that i got upset. I am naturally very protective of my daughters as i am sure as you grow older, you will be too. Continued success! I apologize for anything i said about you personally. It was not about your professional skill which i have heard is very good.”

Flair said he made the threat because of comments Kaiser allegedly made about Charlotte Flair during Flair’s tension with Stratton, who Kaiser was dating at the time. Kaiser has not publicly addressed Flair’s comments.
