Two major stars are going to reappear on WWE events this weekend, but they will not be on SmackDown. Instead, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will work upcoming NXT live events this weekend.

The move was first reported by PWInsider Elite (via WrestlingNews.co), who noted the appearances are meant to knock off ring rust. The Street Profits have been off WWE television for several weeks, sparking fan speculation about possible injuries. However, that concern has recently been cleared up.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Ford and Dawkins are fully healthy. Their absence was a planned creative pause rather than a medical issue.

Using NXT live events for main roster talent is nothing new. WWE often sends established names to these shows without the pressure of national television.

The Street Profits were last featured prominently on WWE SmackDown in mid-2025. They captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from DIY on March 14 and held the titles through a TLC defense in April. Their reign ended on July 11, when they dropped the belts to The Wyatt Sicks’ Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy.

There is no confirmed date for Street Profits’ return to the main roster.
