UPDATED: More On Adam Cole’s WWE Contract Status
UPDATE: Another report has confirmed that Adam Cole is a free agent. According to PWInsider, WWE officials sent an internal memo this morning via email stating that Cole was no longer with the company. Cole is now a free agent and can sign wherever he wishes — including, of course, WWE should they make him an offer that he accepts.
WWE considered Cole gone from the company as of last Tuesday, even though his contract didn’t expire until Friday.
ORIGINAL: As we’ve previously reported, it was widely believed that Adam Cole’s contract with WWE expired last Friday as he had previously signed a short extension to stay through NXT Takeover 36. Fightful Select has confirmed that Cole is indeed a free agent and has not re-signed with the company.
WWE sources have stated that Cole is expected to listen to offers. He wasn’t at Smackdown last Friday and wasn’t meeting with Vince, as some thought he would be when he cancelled his stream.
His contract was originally up in July and he signed an extension until August 27.
