WWE Reportedly Interested in NJPW’s Gabe Kidd

Former IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship Gabe Kidd, at only 28 years old, is apparently drawing heavy interest from WWE. This according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (vi F4W Online).
“Gabe Kidd’s contract probably is up at the end of the month – I don’t know that 100 percent – because most New Japan contracts are,” he said. He then added that when it comes to WWE, Kidd is “one they want.” Via New Japan’s partnership with AEW, Kidd has made several AEW appearances, and Meltzer notes that Tony Khan’s company would love to have him full-time as well.
Kidd, who made his wrestling debut at 14 using a mask to conceal his age, is a former member of the infamous Bullet Club, and their sub-faction the War Dogs with Alex Coughlin. He hails from Nottingham, England, and has been an ally to the Death Riders — albeit not an official member — in many of his AEW appearances. At World’s End, he lost a bloody match to Darby Allin in a reversed sleeper hold.
Last May, Kidd proclaimed himself loyal to NJPW and “not an AEW guy,” but his recent appearances for them seem to indicate a change of heart. As for WWE, well, as one of their talents once famously said, “Everybody’s got a price” for million-dollar men.
