Tony Khan Says He’s Optimistic For Samoa Joe To Return Very soon
Samoa Joe has been out of action since late January, and Tony Khan says he’s hopeful the former World Champion will return soon. Joe was announced on the January 28th episode of AEW Dynamite as being out with a “non-contact injury” that he suffered during training. He hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since.
Khan was asked about Joe’s status by Adam Barnard of The Sportster during Thursday’s media call promoting AEW Revolution. Khan put Joe over as one of the greatest all-time champions in professional wrestling. He noted that Joe is still recovering but is optimistic that the Opps member will be returning “very soon.”
Joe was reported last month as being under concussion protocol. Joe’s most recent match was against Mike Bailey on the January 12th episode of AEW Dynamite. He said at For the Love of Wrestling that he’ll be back “sooner than later.”
As is likely obvious from the above, there’s no word on when Samoa Joe may be returning to the ring. On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Joe as he continues his injury recovery.
I ask about update on Samoa Joe and when he may be returning to the ring.
TK calls Samoa Joe one of the greatest champions not just in AEW, but of all time in wrestling. Says Joe is still recovering from his injuries, but he's optimistic about his return being very soon.
